Mr. Peter Sorce is a martial arts practitioner and instructor of several disciplines. He is the founder of the Sorce Martial Arts in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

You definitely have to separate training from teaching. If I'm teaching class and I'm like focused on my workout and my patterns, I'm not giving my students what I should be. It's really important that if you're teaching, you're teaching.

As a child, being amazed at martial arts is not an unusual thing but continuing to train with it is something special. Mr. Peter Sorce didn't only continue training since seeing his first demonstration at 6, he continued training and even becoming an instructor himself. He is the founder and master instructor at the Sorce Martial Arts in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. Sorce has more than 30 years of martial arts experience, including more than 25 years of teaching experience. The fact is that old-style karate uses everything together, sometimes even at the same time. For example, you pull someone's arm and perform a joint lock on that arm against the elbow and at the same time, you strike them on a vital point in the head. You do it at the same time.

Episode 480 - Mr. Jeff Kelly


Mr. Jeff Kelly is a martial arts practitioner and instructor of Taichi and FMA. Mr. Kelly is the founder of the Xilin Martial Arts Center in Oregon.

I have been without a teacher for 30 years because of where I live and my financial state didn't enable me to get another training. So no one showed me what these applications are but I discovered on my own a lot of the applications. What's fascinating is that to be effected, they have to be done exactly as done in the form.

Our guest today came to the martial arts because of two words: Billy Jack. Right after watching the film, Mr. Jeff Kelly and his friend went to the only dojang in their area. Refusing to stop his training, Mr. Kelly went on to clean the dojang because he has no money to pay for his training. Eventually, his passion has brought him to many places and enabled him to train on different disciplines such as Filipino Martial Arts and  Taichi.
