Sensei Ron Kluger is a martial arts practitioner and instructor based in Israel. He's the head of Karatedo International.

In my opinion, to be a fine martial artist is one thing and to be a fine teacher you need both. You need to be a fine technician and a fine teacher. You need to Invest in both important factors.

When you talk about Israeli martial artist, you would immediately think about Krav Maga. For some reason, Sensei Ron Kluger is not one of those for a simple reason that when he was starting at 12 years old, Judo was the only one available for him to train on. Sensei Ron Kluger found himself training in a good dojo and trainer that's why he never went back. Presently, he is the Head of Karate Do International and Rector at the International Budo Academy. We had a lot of international martial artists in the show and Sensei Ron Kluger is definitely one of the best. Listen to learn more!

Sensei Andy Sloane - Episode 530

Steven A. “Andy” Sloane, A.S., is a native of Shreveport, LA. His introduction to the martial arts began with judo in January 1991 while in middle school. On November 1, 1993, as a freshman in high school, he began training in Isshin-ryu karate under Harvey L. Kennedy. Kennedy was his primary instructor until November 2000, but he also briefly trained under Robert Kristensen (1994-1995) and Jared Blackwell (1999-2000) while living in Texas. Since November 2000, Sloane has trained directly under Ed Johnson, a first- generation student of Isshin-ryu’s founder. Sloane moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area at the end of May 1994, completing high school in McKinney, TX (1997) and receiving his Associate of Science degree from Collin College (2000).

I like that experience from martial arts that being told over and over again; "That's not right, do it again." In a way, I know my Sifu wasn't' angry with me, I was just doing it wrong and I was expected to fix it. It absolutely contributed to my success as a journalist and also my success as a parent and spouse.

The influence of our parents is monumental to children and that case is true for our guest today. Mr. Jason Brick was influenced by his father, who has an affinity for wrestling, to start training in 7th grade. Being exposed to wrestling first, Mr. Brick transitioned to Kempo without any complications. Mr. Brick's dedication to the martial arts also enabled him to become the best journalist and father that he can be. As a father, he is a staunch advocate of a safe home that's why he created the upcoming Safest Family on the Block Podcast that talks about protecting the family with our martial arts skills.
